1. iRobot Roomba j7+
The Roomba J7+, IRobot's most advanced robot to date is the Roomba j7+. The most significant advancement, however, is its camera-based obstacle-detection technology. It makes use of AI to identify objects such as charging cables and shoes. It's also the first robot to automatically send you a picture of any object it encounters to let you know to avoid it in the future.
The Combo J7+ is the most efficient robot mop we've ever tested. It cleans up dirt and spills effortlessly leaving no trace it was there. The iRobot app makes it easy to control. It can schedule cleanings and create Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't sweep in areas you don’t want. And it's compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can start and stop it with your voice.
The design is also more appealing than the competition. It has an elegant, top piece that resembles an toy, not the loud and annoying robot. And the Clean Base Automated Dirt Disposal System self-empties and is ideal for reducing your cleanup time.
In our tests, we discovered that the j7+ swiftly removed dust, dirt, and pet hair. Its counter-rotating rubber brush rolls kept the debris in one place rather than sending it scattering all over the floor. It even could capture sand and small gravel that other robots aren't able to do. It did this without getting tangled in our pet's hair.
The j7+, although not as sophisticated as the Roomba S9 for $1,217+ Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and cannot clean the stairs, is still an option for those who need both mopping and a vacuum. It's not too expensive and the iRobot App makes it simple to use.
Although the iRobot Home app is very user-friendly, we've found it to be less reliable than other applications that use robotic cleaners. It can take some time to download updates and it is sometimes difficult to tell whether they're working until you actually see them in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you're looking to purchase an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than simply clean floors, the most effective option is likely to be a hybrid. This kind of robot usually includes a built-in water tank that allows them to vacuum and mop your home simultaneously. These bots also come with various additional features, including smart mapping, small object avoidance, and the capability to wash and dry mopping pads. The disadvantage is that they tend to be expensive when purchased at full retail, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they usually drop in price.
Roborock makes some of our favorite robot vacuums, and the Q5+ isn't an exception. This is their least expensive auto-empty model, and while it lacks some of the features found on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still an excellent option if you're willing to sacrifice a little to save hundreds of dollars.

It's also extremely thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies, which is a place where cheaper robot vacuums can really be a bit sloppy. The Q5+'s navigation system is also superb, with only a few mishaps along walls and in corners.
The Q5+, as with other Roborock products can be controlled with a few buttons on the device or through the Roborock App. The app allows you to start and stop cleanings. You can also set up schedules, create virtual barrier and no-go areas, adjust your home map, or re-label rooms.
If you choose to purchase the Q5+, it comes with a brand new auto-empty dock specifically designed to make the machine easy to maintain. It requires a screwdriver for install, but once in place, emptying the bin is relatively easy. It features a large LCD screen that is very useful for setting up schedules or changing settings. This isn't a necessity for everyone, but it's one that can aid in keeping the track of the intervals between maintenance for your robot easily.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a sophisticated, well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of vacuuming and mopping. Its design and functionality are among the best on the market however, it's also expensive.
It is a relatively small base station that looks stunning and can be hidden when not in use. The primary selling point of the station is the fact that it automates a variety of tasks, functions and chores that other robots leave to you. It stores clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and heats the water (which most other robovacs require you to do) also emptying the dustbin after vacuuming, and ensures that your robot clean and charged.
Its vacuuming capabilities are impressive as well. It's one of the only robovacs that I've tested that do a really good job of cleaning up debris from bare floors, and it's not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.
But the Freo X Ultra has its shortcomings, particularly in terms of navigation. Its laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs. This means it is sometimes stuck or confused in certain areas of your home. It's not able to climb stairs as well as competitors,, and it doesn't have an dock that allows you to create a dedicated cleaning zone for carpets that are soft.
While it doesn't offer as many in terms of cleaning-related options in its app, or as many shortcuts in the app as other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still a top choice for those looking for a comprehensive mop and vacuum cleaner that's worth the price price.
If you're looking for a way to save money or aren't concerned about the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of other options available. A lot of eufy models are substantially less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance, is cheaper and offers an identical experience on the app with additional features such as stairs, a fully-function dock, and better overall performance when vacuuming floors as well as high and low-pile carpets.
4. Eufy RoboVac G30
Eufy, a Anker company, has a track record of creating robot vacuums that strike the right balance between features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning power for hard and carpeted floors, as well as mopping capabilities at an affordable price. It's easy to setup simply by snapping one of the side brushes on, switch on and plug in the charging dock. The app walks you through a few steps to connect to your Wi-Fi. After that, the G30 is ready to go. You'll need to leave the dock near an electrical outlet and plenty of room for it to move, however.
The G30 is small, 2.85 inches tall to be exact and can be placed under couches and other low-clearance furniture. Its design is less ostentatious compared to some rival models. It is sleek with a black finish and three buttons that are physical for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs an area in a spiral fashion over two minutes), Recharge, and Spot Cleaner. It is also possible to connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to do unscheduled cleaning with voice commands.
The most important aspect that makes the G30 apart from most competitors is the way it cleans. It makes use of an integrated map to make an image of the unmovable objects in its path. It remembers what it has already cleaned and what it is unable to access. It automatically returns to the base to recharge and continues cleaning the area it left.
The sleek G30 isn't without faults however. The iRobot Roomba is built better and has lower recurring costs. It charges faster, has a similar battery life, and is more effective on bare carpet or floors with low pile. It has a larger dust bin, which does not require more emptying. It also comes with boundaries that prevent it from certain areas. The G30 is, however, is more affordable and a lot easier to maintain. Its smaller size means that it doesn't have to be emptied as often, and it has less difficulty handling bulky products like cereal.
